Beauty Of Bryce
Hoodoo Party
Bryce Canyon National Park is an American national park located in southwestern Utah. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon, but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rock. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for park visitors.
It is hard to take a bad picture in Bryce Canyon. The vibrant colors of the land formations make this park very unique and photographer friendly. Some of the best shots can be taken roadside at the overlooks. Although this is a great option, I would suggest that you hike the park. Go down into the canyon. As impressive as it is at the top, it is just as impressive at the bottom.
One flaw that this park has is it’s beauty attracts a lot of visitors. For a park that is not that large, it quickly feels crowded. One way to beat the crowd is to get up before them, or stay later than they do. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to photograph this park. Not just because the lighting is amazing, but there are a lot less people. I was the only person at this location for sunrise. It was peaceful and calm. I was able to capture a great photograph, and take in the beauty without distractions.
