Escape To The Mountains
Escapism
Escapism can come in many forms. Perhaps you find it when engrossed in a good movie or maybe when endlessly scrolling funny videos on Instagram. It’s that feeling you get when you lift yourself out of the here and now to somewhere else – somewhere that feels better for your mind. I’ve always thought of escapism as a purely good thing; something we need now and then.
My escape has always been the outdoors. A hike, a walk, a drive down an old dirt road. Just getting out and getting away from everyday life. My favorite escape has always been the mountains. It brings me a sense of peace and calmness to just sit and look. Letting everyday troubles and stress go, and enjoying the beautiful vistas.
I was in Rocky Mountain National Park when I took this photo. I remember that day well. I sat at this location for a few hours. Just listening to the river flow by. Taking in the beauty of the mountains. Not a person around. No cell service. Just the sounds of nature.
My advice to everyone is to find that place and remember to escape when you can. Even if it is just for a little bit of time.
