Do It, Just Start Your Day!

I love camping, but some mornings are rough. It’s cold. Damp. No cell service to keep yourself amused. Some people would just pull the blanket over their head and go back to sleep. In my crazy brain, I start thinking about what shot I can find on this dreary morning. My mood is the opposite of how it looks and feels outside. So I make a quick cup of coffee and head out.

When I shot this I was camping near Colorado Springs. When I drove down to this reservoir the only thing I could see were the flashing lights from the snow plows on the top of Pikes Peak. The light started to change. It was getting brighter. The clouds were lifting. I could barely control my excitement as I observed the clouds dancing across the top of the water. Rising and drifting slowly, the morning fog was moving out. The sky was lighting up. The cold and dreary mood of the morning was changing. It was the start of a great day.
