I'm Back Baby!

There is a light at the end of this tunnel

Almost a year ago I decided I was going to start a blog about traveling to national parks. I had this great vision on how I can tie my love of photography and travel together. As we all know this past year was very difficult. After my first two entries in my blog I started to second guess this idea. “Why write a travel blog when everyone is stuck at home?”  Questions like this popped in my head every time I sat down to write the next travel blog. I thought it was a waste of time and put it on the back burner.

This week we “celebrated” the anniversary of the pandemic here in America. One year since our lives were completely changed. There are many negative things that have come from this horrible disease. Death and sickness for millions. Millions of families torn apart and devastated from something that caught the entire world by surprise. It has been a dark cloud that has been over all of us for what seems to be an eternity.

I know many people still traveled. The RV industry had their most lucrative year ever. I was able to visit three more National Parks last year. Although the parks were amazing, it was not the same. Many National Parks only allowed so many visitors each day. Towns were shut down. You weren’t able to go into the visitor centers.  No souvenirs. No local restaurants. Although you were traveling, you weren’t experiencing the locations. A constant reminder about the doom and gloom of the year from hell.

Although there were many points this year I thought it would never happen, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And I know it has been a very long tunnel. But there is hope. Numbers are going down. People are getting vaccinated. Towns are starting to open up. The light is getting closer. But we are not there yet. People are still getting sick and passing away. So although we are all excited and anxious to get back to normal, we must be vigilant. We do not want to be the player that celebrates before he gets into the end zone and fumbles the ball. Let’s cross that goal line and celebrate. We can do this together.

Feeling positive and hopeful, I will be starting up my blog again. I want to talk about travel and photography. I want to share experiences with everyone. So stay tuned. New blogs are on their way.  The next “Your Park Entrance” will be coming soon. The subject, Grand Teton National Park. One of my top 5 National Parks.
