Peak of Winter
Mills Lake- Rocky Mountain National Park
Sitting at an elevation of just under 10,000 feet is Mills Lake, a beautiful subalpine lake that is nestled just below Half Mountain. Named after the “Father of Rocky Mountain National Park”, Enos Mills, this is one hike you do not want to miss when you visit RMNP. Hiking year round can be fun and adventurous, but adding snow to the trail can make things tricky. If you do hike when there is snow, be safe and take the proper precautions. This trail is slightly challenging, but the reward at the end is breathtaking.
