Stand Out From the Rest

There is a valuable life lesson that we have all been taught at one point or another. If you can find a way to truly stand out from the crowd, chances are you'll be much more successful in reaching your aspirations and dreams. People are naturally drawn to those who exhibit qualities that are different and unique, so if you can manage to set yourself apart from the rest, you’ll increase your chances of achieving your goals. If you’ve got it, you’ve truly got it! So don’t hesitate to show off your incredible skills and talents. This thought came to my mind while I was driving around the stunning Rocky Mountain National Park during the enchanting late fall season. The leaves had started to make their graceful descent to the ground. Some trees had already lost all of their vibrant foliage and were left standing in the forest completely naked, preparing themselves for the long, cold winter that Colorado is known for. There were still a few resilient trees hanging on, but most were small or had only a scattering of leaves remaining. Then, quite unexpectedly, I came upon the subject of this particular picture. This remarkable tree was doing its very best to stand out amidst a crowd of stark darkness. It was still full of lush, green leaves, and those leaves were bursting with vibrant colors. It was truly “Showing Off,” and I was genuinely glad to witness it. In just a week or two, it will likely look just as sad and bare as the others surrounding it. But in that moment, on that beautiful day, it was shining like the brightest star in the vast sky.
